Principal
Carla C. Cataldo brings fifteen years of government experience on the federal, state and local level to her development consulting business. She has written successful proposals in the areas of: social services, housing, economic development, transportation enhancements, historical preservation, and the arts.
As the Executive Director of the Downtown Partnership of Milford, Inc., she revitalized a fledgling non-profit dedicated to downtown revitalization. During her tenure, membership more than tripled, and she was instrumental in securing a successful $500,000 grant from state Community Development Block Grant funds. In 2006, her clients received, on average, a return of 300% on their investment of services. The average rate of return for clients to date in 2007 is 650%.
As the managing partner of Cataldo & Shapiro, Proposal Writing and Consultation, she obtained a range of clients from new not-for-profit organizations such as Cornerstone Christian Academy and EARTH Limited to large institutions such as Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies and Milford-Whitinsville Regional Hospital.
She has served as a member of the MetroWest Community Health Care Foundations Distribution Committee for six years and is trained in the Peter F. Drucker Foundations Self-Assessment Tool. Her writing experience includes both newspaper and magazine articles, newsletters, direct-mail appeals, and conference proceedings editing.
Ms. Cataldo received a Masters of Public Policy degree from Harvard Universitys John F. Kennedy School of Government, and an A.B. degree from Smith College. Presentations on proposal writing have been given to the: Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central MA Chapter, the Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers, Massachusetts Service Alliance, National Association of Girls Schools annual conference, Technical Development Corporation, MetroWest Nonprofit Network, Massachusetts Prevention Center, Town of Holliston, Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization, Boston Center for Adult Education and the United Way of Tri-County.
